Ingredients
Scale
1 pound of flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 cups of broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
1 cup of long-grain white rice (or brown rice for added nutrition)
2 cups of beef broth (or vegetable broth for a lighter flavor)
1 tablespoon of soy sauce (low sodium option available)
1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (can substitute with extra soy sauce)
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (sesame oil adds a nutty flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain. Gather and measure out broccoli florets, rice, garlic, and ginger.
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of beef broth to a boil. Add the rice, cover, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook according to package instructions.
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add broccoli florets and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring to coat everything evenly. Let everything simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Serve the beef and broccoli mixture over the rice, fluff the cooked rice with a fork, and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions.
