Ingredients
Scale
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 tablespoons of olive oil
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup of heavy cream
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 slices of sourdough bread
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring and allow it to thicken for about 5 minutes, seasoning as needed.
Slice the cooked chicken and toss them in the creamy garlic sauce until fully coated.
Lay the sourdough bread slices flat and generously spoon the creamy garlic chicken mix onto two slices. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top, then cover with the other slices of bread to form sandwiches.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat, butter the outside of each sandwich, and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
Let the sandwiches cool for a minute before slicing diagonally and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
The Creamy Garlic Chicken Melt Sandwich is a tantalizing blend of creamy garlic goodness and tender chicken, melted between perfectly toasted bread.
