  • Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour bowl. Stir until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes until it doubles in size.
  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let this sauce simmer for about 15 minutes.
