Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (consider turkey or chicken for a leaner option)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (you can also use mozzarella or pepper jack)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (fresh garlic provides the best flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or pizza dough for a thicker crust)
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese (parmesan can be replaced with pecorino for a different kick)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (olive oil or garlic-infused oil can add a unique twist)
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

  • Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  • Separate biscuit dough into individual biscuits or roll out pizza dough into small circles.
  • On each biscuit, place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture in the center, sprinkle with parmesan, fold and seal the dough.
  • Brush the tops with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic powder and parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly and serve, garnishing with parsley if desired.
