Description

Indulge in a rich German Chocolate Poke Cake that’s a true culinary delight, perfect for any celebration or sweet treat craving. Enjoy every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 can (12 oz) of coconut pecan frosting
  • 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • Optional topping: whipped cream or chocolate ganache

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine your chocolate cake mix, eggs, buttermilk, and vegetable oil. Use a handheld mixer for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Once the cake has cooled for 10 minutes, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes throughout the cake, about every inch.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and the coconut pecan frosting. Stir until well-blended and warmed through. Pour this mixture evenly over the poked holes in the cake.
  • Allow the cake to cool fully, then cover it and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight if possible!).
  • Notes

Transform a simple poke cake into a show-stopping dessert with a rich and moist German Chocolate Poke Cake, drizzled with coconut frosting.
