Description

Savor the epic flavor explosion of our irresistible Mushroom Swiss Patty Melt A delicious combo of savory mushrooms Swiss cheese and juicy beef

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese (or Gruyère)
  • 4 slices of rye bread (sourdough optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or olive oil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or fresh garlic

  • Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients. Ensure your mushrooms are sliced and onions are ready.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms, salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Cook until mushrooms are browned, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form four equal patties with a small indentation in the center.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and add Swiss cheese on top. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until cheese is melted and beef is cooked to desired doneness.
  • Toast the rye bread slices. Layer one slice with onions and mushrooms, add the cheeseburger patty, then top with another slice of bread.
  • Wipe the skillet clean, melt more butter, and grill the assembled sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the sandwich, slice in half, and serve with optional sides.
