Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar (or honey, for a healthier option)
  • 4 cups of water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

  • Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Remove the green tops and finely slice them.
  • In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries with half a cup of water and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to create a smooth strawberry puree.
  • In a small saucepan, combine a cup of water with the sugar (or honey). Heat until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup. Allow to cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, strawberry puree, and cooled simple syrup. Add the remaining water according to preference.
  • Stir well, taste, and adjust sweetness as needed. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice, garnished with mint leaves and sliced strawberries.
