  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • Optional: Your favorite barbecue sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Begin by removing any excess fat and the silver skin from the ribs.
  2. In a small bowl, combine kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture generously over the ribs.
  3. Wrap the seasoned ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Set your smoker to 225°F (107°C) using hickory or oak wood chips.
  5. Place the ribs bone-side down in the smoker and add a pan of beef broth inside.
  6. Smoke the beef short ribs for approximately 5-6 hours, or until they reach 203°F (95°C).
  7. Around the 4-hour mark, wrap the ribs in butcher paper or foil to retain moisture (optional).
  8. Once the ribs reach the desired temperature, let them rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
