- 2 tablespoons Kosher Salt
- 1 tablespoon Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
- 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
- 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- Optional: Your favorite barbecue sauce for serving
Instructions
- Begin by removing any excess fat and the silver skin from the ribs.
- In a small bowl, combine kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture generously over the ribs.
- Wrap the seasoned ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Set your smoker to 225°F (107°C) using hickory or oak wood chips.
- Place the ribs bone-side down in the smoker and add a pan of beef broth inside.
- Smoke the beef short ribs for approximately 5-6 hours, or until they reach 203°F (95°C).
- Around the 4-hour mark, wrap the ribs in butcher paper or foil to retain moisture (optional).
- Once the ribs reach the desired temperature, let them rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
